| ASTRONOMY
Students
and staff always enjoy a walk on a clear and moonless night to the top
of the nearby ridge. Not only are animals spotted on the way but once up
on the ridge the horizons are bedizened with stars. Individual stars
and planets can be pointed out during a brief talk.

Other concepts usually come up during the talk and students often surprise their teachers and each other with what they know. Everyone though is usually in awe of the enormity of the universe. I am constantly amazed at the number of students who have not seen 'shooting stars' but as they are lying there they suddenly see one! Even with the moon out all is not lost as the craters on it's surface are well worth a look at. This star discovery is often the highlight for students in their stay at Nerringillah. Barbara Allsop |
