ROCK PLATFORM
At Flat Rock Beach, students can study a pristine environment with a huge variety of marine littoral organisms. Students are instructed as to how to look for the organisms without hurting them nor destroying their habitat so that the area remains as good for the next group of students.
Students can find and identify a large array of gastropod molluscs as well as oysters, octopi, barnacles, starfish, brittlestars, featherduster worms, tube worms, sponges, sea urchins cunjevoi, crabs, fish and nudibranchs to name but a few.

As well as indentification of these organisms, their adaptations can be seen and discussed. A transect can be done across the littoral zones.
